St. Joseph London ranked as top 5% -- Posted: 7 . 26 . 2010
The ER at St Joseph London was ranked by Healthgrades as one the top 5% of ERs out of over 4900 EDs studied across the country. The study examined the overall mortality of patients admitted thru the ER with 11 different conditions. This is the first ever study of emergency departments released by Healthgrades. We are one of only five EDs in Kentucky named and the only KY based St Joseph facility. This is a big honor for the hospital and for MESA.

New Pikeville Emergency Department
Pikeville Medical Center officials cut the ribbon for the hospital's new emergency department on July 6th. The $10 million investment and 23,000 square foot addition to the hospital provides patients with a more comfortable environment. The new ED includes two trauma bays, three triage bays, physiological monitoring in every room and on-site digital x-rays and CT scans. The department is now a better equipped facility, offering quicker response times, much faster access to CT scans and a quicker turnaround on lab work.
